So I am an on the go type of gal. Always going from one activity to another, I sometimes find it hard to just let go and relax. I have caught myself in the middle of a massage creating a To-do list of what needs to be accomplished when my massage is finished.
Our massage therapist, Steven, had suggested I try a Thai yoga massage and boy am I hooked!
Thai massage or Thai Yoga Massage originated over two thousand years ago. Thai massage is a unique form of body work that incorporates yoga stretching, energy lines, and massage. This was unlike any other massage I have experienced. First of all, the massage is performed on a mat on the floor and I wore my comfy workout clothes.
At first I was a little nervous as Steven had to remind me to relax but I soon feel into a trance. Some people refer to Thai Massage as the lazy man’s yoga and I can see why. My mind and body was completely relaxed as my body was manipulated and stretched into various positions. Once in position the therapist then begins to follow the energy lines of the body and massage. This felt so yummy!
Sadly, 90 minutes later my Thai massage had come to a conclusion. I had felt like I was on cloud nine and my body felt amazing. I think this massage is great for a person who, like me, has that on the go personality. Throughout the massage I was moving and stretching and that was just what my mind needed.
Thai Massage offers many benefits to the mind and body. Some of the benefits may include:
